Local Tree Surgeons in Worthing, Ready to Quote
Worthing sits between the sea and the South Downs, and its gardens have to cope with both. Salt wind off the Channel, chalk and clay soils and big Victorian and inter-war plots mean a mix of holm oak, sycamore, beech, lime, Monterey pine and plenty of tall leylandii and griselinia hedges.
We take enquiries from across Worthing and the coast, from Goring and Findon Valley to Lancing, Shoreham and Rustington, and pass them to qualified, insured tree surgery teams who work locally. Whether you need a hedge cut, a crown reduced or a storm-damaged tree made safe, you get a clear written quote and a tidy job.
The area is covered by Worthing, Adur and Arun councils, with the South Downs National Park just to the north, so we always check for tree preservation orders and conservation areas before work starts.

Tree Surgery Questions, Answered
Do I need permission to cut down a tree in Worthing?
Not always, but you must check first. A tree with a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) needs written consent from your local council before you cut, prune or remove it, and most trees in a conservation area need six weeks' written notice. Dead trees and trees that are an immediate danger have their own exemptions, but you should still tell the council. Breaking these rules can lead to an unlimited fine. We check this for you before any work starts.
How much does tree surgery cost?
It depends on the size and species of the tree, how easy it is to reach, how much needs doing and what you want done with the waste. We give a clear written quote after seeing the tree or from photos for simple jobs, and the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
Are your tree surgeons qualified and insured?
Yes. The teams we work with hold NPTC certificates (the recognised national qualification for chainsaw and tree work at height) and carry public liability insurance. Ask for details when you receive your quote.
Do you clear everything away afterwards?
Yes. Branches are chipped, timber is cut up and either left for you or removed, and the area is swept. We can also grind out stumps on the same visit.
Can I have my hedge or trees cut in nesting season?
Birds nest from roughly March to August, and it is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to disturb an active nest. We check for nests before we cut and will tell you if work needs to wait. Dangerous trees are treated differently, because safety comes first.
